How to invite disaster: Do nothing; in this case,
literally. One of the great boons of technology is that it lifts
most of life's material burdens off our shoulders.
Unfortunately, it's one of its curses as well. Invent enough
labour saving devices, add an efficient communications system and you
end up with a world where the greatest challenge is reaching from the
crisp bag to the remote. Once that happens, natural selection
starts to take over, limbs start to atrophy, and before you know it,
conga lines become a thing of the past. |
