The only other flying car to have received a CAA certification, Molt Taylor's aerocar.  Like the airphibian, this was more of a roadable plane than a flying motor car, but it had one up on its predecessor in that its wings and tail folded up into a towable package. 

Taylor worked on improving and trying to sell his machine for twenty years and by 1970 even got to the point of interesting the Ford Motor Company in marketing it, but rising oil prices and cheap Japanese imports did for the aerocar what they did for the Yank tanks and the aerocar towed its tail section into history.
