When radio really gets going we can expect to see
reporters on the scene giving us the news Johnny-on-the-spot.
Mind you, by the time he unloads the set, hooks up
the power leads, erects the antenna, replaces the valves shattered in
the car trip, and finally manages to make contact with the station the
fire will have been out for three hours, but there's the principle of
