If you can't build a bigger screen, then sit closer
to the set. Way closer.
Here we see Mr. Gernsback himself in 1963 modelling
a mock-up of his "teleyeglasses", which he originally described in a
1936 issue of Short Wave Craft and hoped to see in the shops in
time for Christmas 1970. The teleyeglasses never did catch on,
though-- probably because using them on public transport was about as
convenient as being a blind man with a couple of spears stuck in his
head. |
