Custom Search
Transportation isn't just about getting between cities and continents; it's about getting between floors as well.  That's why the 1962 Seattle World's Fair featured the incredible, awe-inspiring lift of the future:  The Bubblelator.  Why bother having a load of little lifts carrying a dozen passengers when you can have one big one that carries a hundred people at a time?  Better yet, have constant futuristic music playing

That's one way of getting the punters moving.

The controls for the Bubblelator were... interesting.  A careful study of them reveals two things:  1) the builder of the control panel had seen Forbidden Planet one too many times and 2) the operator was going to have a word with the uniform designer that involved emphasising points through liberal applications of a baseball bat.
