But for  the ultimate in monorails the winner is the one that has no rails at all; just suspend the train car within magnetic rings and away you go.  At least, you will once the rocket are lit.  Soon you'll be hurtling at supersonic speeds with destruction mere yards away, leaving even the roar of the rocket motors far behind, so you'll be able to clearly hear your fellow passengers' refined screams.
