Sorry, this isn't a Thunderbird
machine either. KLA was the call sign of a pirate television
station that was broadcasting illegally from its two-man studio in
low-Earth orbit. Suffering the double problems of being knocked
into the atmosphere by a runaway rocket and having a panicky idiot for
a deejay, KLA at least had the consolation of being the first on the
air with the story as it slammed into the ground.
