Motor cars in 1980 would be turbine-powered,
gull-winged sports models that hummed down the road with a pleasant
high-tech whine.
In real life, the cars were actually claustrophobic
nightmares with no pick up, a danger to steer, smelled funny, and the doors had to be
opened by an unseen stagehand. Not unlike some
production cars I've encountered. |
