In 1938, Vogue magazine asked nine designers to look forward to the fashions of the year 2000, which at least three of them did in a way that obviously involved beer goggles.

First we have Gilbert Rhode gentleman of 2000 AD, who has dispensed with jacket and tie (and razor) in favour of Batman's utility belt and a suit woven with beryllium threads to soak up "omega waves" to provide air conditioning.  Around his neck hangs what we today could only call a cell phone.  Unfortunately, the antenna for it is the thing he's wearing on his head.

Raymond Lowey went for a more conservative bent with a convertible dress with detachable sleeves.
And finally, we see this creation of Henry Dreyfuss that showcases a handbag that doubles as an electric fan.

And here they are on the runway.
