Not James Bond.When it was first developed in the 1940's, the electronic violin was heralded as the first in a new wave of hi-tech string instruments that would revolutionise the symphony orchestra.  Today, however, its use is largely confined to all-girl classical string quartets that are so poor that they can't afford clothes.
