Dr.
Satan is another of those mad scientists out to rule the world that
were so prevalent during the serial days that they had to queue
outside the FBI building to deliver their threats.
The Mysterious Dr. Satan (1940) is noteworthy in that it was
recycled from a Batman serial that never went into
production, so the script was
dusted off, the hero was changed to "Copperhead," and voila!
The recycling even extended to Dr. Satan's robots that were leftovers
from Undersea Kingdom. Unfortunately, they share the same
fate as Dr. Zorka's robot in that they spend most of their screen time
on one long tea break.
