In the weightlessness of space,
legs don't really have much use on a space walk-- seeing as there
isn't all that much actually walking to be done. In fact, legs
can be a positive hazard, what with catching on wires and all, so why
not just cut the legs off astronauts and be done with it? Too
severe? Okay, how about saving on tailoring costs and making
spacesuits without legs? Just encase the lower limbs in a sort
of tube-thing. It's stylish, and it's practical.
Unless you get a knee cramp, of
course. |
