For the space pioneer on a
budget, this early version of an ion-drive ship designed by Franz
Abdon Ulinski in 1927 used the same principle as the
Ernst Stuhlinger Mars ships, but with the
added feature that the ship used electromagnetic attraction to scoop
up its own exhaust and recycle it. It's the same principle as trying to lift yourself
off the ground as grabbing yourself by the belt and tugging really
hard-- and just as effective. |
