This is probably the most copied spacesuit design in history.  It's from Destination Moon (1950).  For over ten years every sci-fi film with a budget over a buck and a half imitated these suits.  They look like some sort of a fashion nightmare, but a lot of the details, such as an inner and an outer suit to prevent chafing, and a control panel on the belt were pretty good for the time.

The only real annoyance is that the helmets had a tendency to sag forward  forcing the actors to spend all the Moon scenes trying to peep under the rim of their face plates.
